The 2012 edition of the Malta Jazz Festival will close with a special number which will fuse music and dance.

Barcelona-based jazz pianist Chano Dominguez brilliantly fuses the art forms of flamenco and jazz – arranging each tune to a different flamenco style to incorporate choreography: “We use dance as part of the flamenco percussion,” he says, “integrating it in introductions and improvisations within the structures of the song.”

This is the first time that dance is being featured in the Malta Jazz Festival.

The show will give the Malta Jazz Festival a fiery ending, featuring one of the most renowned dancers on the flamenco scene - Daniel Navarro. It will also feature Blas Cordoba on vocals, Felipe Cabrera on bass and Guillermo McGill on drums and cajon.

The Malta Jazz Festival will be held on the 19 to 21 July at Ta’ Liesse, Grand Harbour, Valletta.
