Richard Cuschieri has been charged on Monday morning with bomb threats at the courts and has been denied bail. Police told the court that in surveillance work carried out by an IT expert the last bomb threat by Cuschieri was last Monday at 10.00am when he was due to appear in a case before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi. But there were other cases when Cuschieri called the courts to say that there was a bomb in the building.

Every time a bomb threat is received, the buildings have to be evacuated and cases called off.

Police surveillance of phone calls placed by Cuschieri shows that he was responsible for other bomb threats at the courts on 19 April 2012 at 9.40am, 31 May 2012, 26 March 2012 and 16 March 2012.
