Natalino Fenech sues and goes to Vienna

PBS news editor, Natalino Fenech did not show up in court earlier today after he filed for criminal libel against ONE TV editor Kurt Farrugia.

Dr Fenech is abroad, enjoying a trip to Vienna, courtesy of Malta International Airport.

The PBS news editor filed for a criminal libel because he is claiming that ONE News did not issue a right of reply on a case in which his newsroom was found guilty of not fairly reporting a Labour Party right of reply.

The criminal case against Farrugia is being heard in front of Mr Justice Francesco Depasquale and was postponed for October.

The head of news of the national TV station, which many observers claim to have reached record levels of imbalance against the Labour party, chose the draconian procedure of criminal libel to sue the ONE News editor. This libel was served on Kurt Farrugia at the same time when the Labour Party had to resort to file a warrant of prohibitory injunction requesting the court to withhold Transport Malta from attempting to remove Labour's billboards.
