Another promise down the drain: dementia pill

Wednesday, 20 Jun 2012, 11:33

Labour spokesperson for Health MP Marie Louise Coleiro Preca said on Wednesday morning that six months after the Budget 2012 promised that dementia sufferers would be given free medicine, it has not happened. The Health Ministry said that the pill would be given before the end of this year but did not say when.

Government had given the impression that this medicine would be available in the early months of this year. “Half of the year is gone and it takes time to get this medicine and give it to dementia sufferers. It shows that government has the wrong priorities and the most vulnerable people suffer.”
