[WATCH]: 39 year old charged with killing 60 year old

In the Magistrates' Court of Malta as a Court of Criminal Inquiry today 17th June 2012, the police arraigned under arrest Justin West of 39 years and born in England. He was charged that in these islands on the 16 June 2012 at about 10.00am in St. Andrews Road, St.Julians while driving a Peugeot, he:

1. Caused the death of 60 year old Anthony Grixti through reckless driving.

2. Damaged the quad bike of Grixti.

3. Damaged another Peugeot.

4. Damaged the Peugeot he was driving belonging to a rental company.

5. Drove under the influence of excessive drink or drugs.

Justin West pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court refused him bail and he is being kept under arrest.

Saturday: In St Andrew’s Road between Pembroke and Bahar ic-Caghaq at 10.00am on Saturday a Peugeot 107 driven by a 39 year old Englishman hit a quodbike driven by a 60 year old man from St Julian’s and another Peugeot 107 driven by a 35 year old woman from Mosta.

The 60 year old man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he died soon after. The Englishman is still being treated for injuries. The woman did not suffer any injuries.

If the foreigner was truly under the influence of alcohol then ITS ABOUT TIME BREATHALIZER was inroduced WITHOUT THE NEED OF A LAWYERS INTERVENTION the POLICE should have the RIGHT to perform the test just like abroad.LOOK at the consequences.HOW can the government let this go on these are precious LIVES taken away because of some irresponsible moron who decided to drink and drive because in Malta YOU CAN it seems!!!!!
