Bank of Valletta has renewed its sponsorship of the Dean’s List at the Faculty of Arts within the University of Malta. Only top students who achieve A grades covering at least 80 credits during the first two years of their course are eligible to enter the Dean’s List. This is the 16th year that Bank of Valletta is the sole sponsor of this academic award.
This year, the students who made it to the prestigious Dean’s List were Gino Bezzina (B.A. Philosophy and Psychology), Darren Chetcuti (B.A. (Hons) International Relations), Elsa Fiott (B.A. (Hons) English) and Denise Mizzi (B.A. (Hons) Geography). These students will be graduating in November 2012.
The Bank’s sponsorship was presented by Gilbert Zahra, manager of Bank of Valletta’s University Branch, to Prof Dominic Fenech, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta, in the presence of Prof Juanito Camilleri, University Rector.
Congratulating this year’s inductees, Mr. Zahra said “Our support for this initiative continues to consolidate Bank of Valletta’s position as a supporter of academic excellence among students. At Bank of Valletta, we believe that good academic preparation serves as the foundation for a successful career after the students’ university years.”
Thanking Bank of Valletta for its long-term support, sustained for the past years, Prof. Fenech said: “Only the very best are allowed to feature on the Dean’s list. Only students who have achieved high percentile grades without any fails or re-sits can be included in the List. The students must also be recommended by the Head of Department in consultation with other tutors for inclusion in the Dean’s list.
The Rector added his congratulations to all students for their high achievement and again thanked Bank of Valletta for their support.
