The GWU's Professionals, Finance and Services section has signed the first collective agreement for Dar Tal-Providenza employees.

The agreement which takes into account the important role of the home in Maltese society also recognises the contribution of the circa 200 employees engaged and provides them with new employment conditions, better salary scales and family friendly measures. The agreement covers the years 2012 to 2014 and came about after months of negotiations between the sides.

The agreement was signed by Fr Martin Micallef and Mr Alfred Bezzina for the home and by Dr Cory Greenland, Mr Paul Micallef and Mr Frans Micallef for the Union.
