Three thousand euros have so far been won by the public who participated in the weekly GreenPak’s campaign lottery “You win… The environment wins”, launched last October 2011. Fifteen winners were presented €200 for disposing their packaging waste in GreenPak bring-in-sites (BIS) or through door-to-door collections.
The lucky winners hailed from various localities across Malta and Gozo, including Vittoriosa, Żebbuġ, Floriana, Attard, Birżebbugia, Marsa, Pembroke, Fgura, Xewkija, Tarxien, Sannat, Kalkara and Mqabba. There are more cash prizes to be won as GreenPak’s weekly lottery is on-going until Easter Sunday on 8th April.

The complete list of winners is available online at https://www.greenpak.com.mt/community-news/1562-the-lottery-winners.

Participating is easy and one only needs to write down the respective telephone or mobile number on items before disposing them at GreenPak’s bring-in-sites or in the recycling bag that is collected by GreenPak from door-to-door.

GreenPak’s Education Officer Kurt Scerri said: “More cash prizes are up for grabs each week until 8th April. With GreenPak everyone can be a winner, even those who reside in a locality that does not form part of GreenPak’s waste recovery scheme. In fact a winner was drawn from the locality of Żebbuġ (Malta), but was actually a resident of Siggiewi. This shows that everyone has a chance to win.”

Every week, a locality is drawn at random together with whether the winning item is to be drawn from GreenPak bring-in-site or through door-to-door collections. The packaging material is drawn in the presence of an official from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) and the winner is immediately notified.

GreenPak’s campaign lottery “You win… The environment wins”, operated by GreenPak Coop, is part of its nationwide drive towards more sustainable practices. It is carried out throughout 29 Local Councils which form part of GreenPak’s waste recovery scheme.
Further information regarding the nearest GreenPak bring-in-sites, Local Councils who are registered with GreenPak’s waste recovery scheme, and the weekly lottery, can be found on: www.greenpak.com.mt.
