Noel Gallagher: I had tea with crazy fan

Noel Gallagher has revealed that he once found a crazed fan in his home – but managed to stay calm and not cause a scene.

The 44-year-old Oasis hitmaker told NME about the bizarre incident, which happened in 1999.

Gallagher said: ‘I got home one afternoon when I’d moved out to the countryside and there was a guy sat at the kitchen table. He’d heard I recently moved there so travelled all that way to wait for me in the kitchen, like it was the most normal thing in the world.

‘I was with a friend who happened to be a black dude so we made him a cup of tea and kept him talking while my wife called the police.’

However, the former Oasis star – who has a daughter with first wife Meg Mathews and two sons with current wife Sara MacDonald – was shocked when police arrived and tackled his friend.

‘As I’d gone out to let them in, the guy tried to make a run for it so my mate grabbed him – and the police got him in a headlock! The other guy was just stood there! I’m like, “Are you f***ing kidding me?”’
