During Realta’ programme on One TV, Nationalist backbencher Franco Debono commented for the first time after the Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi lost the majority in parliament on Thursday following the vote of no confidence motion tabled by the Opposition
Three days after Lawrence Gonzi asked for the Nationalist Party councillors to confirm him in office, MP Franco Debono said that this will not change anything about the issues he has been talking about.
While saying that the Prime Minister's statements during the Extraordinary General Council on Sunday had a certain weight, Debono emphasized that the problems at Corradino Correction Facility, the public transport and Delimara power station will remain, independent from the fact if Gonzi is confirmed as head of PN or not.
MP Franco Debono appealed for the parliament to be given the dignity that it deserves, since the Nationalist Party decided that the parliament will meet only when all the MPs are in
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives will meet again this evening.
The agenda consists of 11 bills ranging from amending the Education Act, Budget Measures Implementation, European Union to Protection of the Whistleblower and Cultural heritage. The two first items on the agenda are money bills which means that the vote on them is like the vote of confidence in government.

Stop wasting your time and the country's time for heavens sake and take the right decisions gentlemen please. A very comfortable chair indeed. The only new good thing we shall notice is that more MPS will be doing their duty and attend the Parliamentaty sittings. I think Its time that we must have an attendence sheet and those who do not attend have their salaries deducted unless their absence carries some sound validity. In that way we will have part of the 40 million Euro which have to be cut from our Budget Expenditure as ordered by the EU. God Bless Our Leader.

- Wed 01-Feb-2012, 15:31I stand to be corrected but I believe that the Nationalist Party has no Constitutional means with which to take any action against Dr. Franco Debono at Parliamentary level, if he does not decide to resign, since he was elected by the voters of his district in a Geneal Election. That is why the Council meeting being held next Sunday will not solve anything at Parliamentary Level. If I am not mistaken and things come to a head, Dr. Franco Debono can even end this Parliamentary Legislature as an Independent MP.
